3rd Grade Language Arts/ Religion
Homework Daily work that is not finished in class will need to go home to be finished.
Homework should be Highlighted in the Planner.
I also try to have the students write homework on the page.
Students need to study Spelling and read 15 minutes every day.
Tests & Quizzes
Spelling tests are given on Friday
Reading tests are usually given on Friday
Your child will receive a letter with information regarding our reading series, Journeys. In the letter will be your child's username and password. This information is important because some assignments will need to be completed online. You may also check test scores that have been updated.
Reading The Harvest Birds Genre- Folktale
Monday - Day 1 Do the class read Introduce Voc. Wds. and discuss
Tuesday - Day 2 Work on reading The Treasure and discuss Commas in Addresses - pg. 107
Wednesday - Day 3 Skills literal, not literal and drawing conclusions
Thursday - Day 4 Test over the story
Friday - Close reader pg. 30-33
Voc. Words - harvest, separate, ashamed, borders, advice, borrow, patch, serious
Target Skill and Strategy - Conclusions, Literal and Nonliteral Meanings, Infer and Predict
Grammar - Using Commas
We will test over the story usually on Friday. It is all on the computer and the results are available for you to see with the information listed above.

Monday - Hand out contracts and discuss/ this week we do regular and challenge Word sort Pg / notebook paper
Tuesday - ABC order
Wednesday - Make up sentences
Thursday - Practice with partner
Friday - Test
Words will always be online on Friday and a hard copy sent home on Monday.
