Welcome to the Corpus Christi High School Youth Group!  Our ministry to our parish’s high school students seeks to engage the totality of our young people’s faith life through various experiences of service, social activities, and faith formation.  Similarly, we hope to address challenges that our young people face each day by providing them with a perspective that is firmly rooted in the person of Jesus Christ and the ancient faith of the Church.  We’re a dynamic, energetic group that welcomes students from schools all over Lawrence and beyond.  We usually meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Lower Level St. Gabriel Room at Corpus Christi Church to share a meal together and grow in fellowship with each other and with Jesus Christ.  We hope that your student will be a part of our community.

Student Registration
We ask that parents please register their students who desire to participate in our High School Youth Group.  This will provide us with accurate contact information for you and your student, give us an estimate of group participants, and make your student feel more welcome since we will know their names.  By registering you are not committing your student to attend every gathering.  There is no registration fee.
 
Meals
An essential part of our ministry to our parish's high school students is to provide them with the opportunity to grow in faith and friendship over a shared meal.  We are asking for parents to assist in this ministry by signing up to provide a meal for the group.  Last year we had approximately 25-20 students who regularly attend.  Past meals have included: pasta, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, etc.  Meals may be homemade or purchased and parents are welcome to work together to provide a meal.  We provide water, drinking glasses, napkins, and any necessary dishes, silverware, and serving items.  If you wish, you may simply send the meal items with your student to youth group. 

Advisory Board
A “behind the scenes” aspect of our High School Youth Ministry is our High School Youth Advisory Board.  This groups of interested adults assist with the planning and organizing of the various facets of our ministry to high school students. Meetings are usually held on every 3rd Thursday of the month in the lower level St. Gabriel Room at Corpus Christi. If you’re interested in being involved, simply attend this meeting.

Our High School Youth Group activities seek to engage students through topics relevant to them, service projects, experiences of faith, and social activities!.  Below you will find our schedule for the 2018-2019 school year and tentative activities for each date.

The high school youth group will meet on the below dates:
January 13, 2019 - St. Gabriel Room 6:00-7:00pm 
February 24, 2019 - Serve at LINK after 10am mass. Meet directly at LINK. 
March 31, 2019 - St. Gabriel Room 6:00-7:00pm 
April 28, 2019 - Last meeting of the 2018-2019 year! Scavenger Hunt Downtown starting with Pizza in the park. Location: South Park Gazebo, Lawrence KS.
