Those who serve the spiritual needs of others and continue the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

This includes three orders:

• Deacon: can celebrate two sacraments: Baptism and Matrimony. 
• Priest: can celebrate five sacraments: Baptism, Penance, Holy Eucharist, Matrimony, and Anointing of the Sick.
• Bishop: have the authority to celebrate all seven sacraments: Baptism, Penance, Holy Eucharist, Matrimony, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Confirmation.

Prayer for the Perseverance of Vocations

O God, You have constituted Your Only-begotten Son supreme and eternal Priest for the glory of Your majesty and the salvation of mankind:
grant that those whom He has chosen ministers and dispensers of His mysteries may be found faithful in fulfilling the ministry they have received. Amen
