God created us to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him for ever in heaven.  Through service to others, we learn about ourselves and build our relationship with Christ.  The primary purpose of the required service time is to emphasize that followers of Christ are called to be persons of service.  As confirmed Catholics, using our abilities to serve the needs of others is part of our faith commitment.

Service Requirements:
As Confirmation Candidates, you are expected to do 6 hours of service per semester within your parish family and within the broader community.  Your service may be performed alone, with friends, with family, or as an organized activity, but all need to be done with parent knowledge and approval.  Upon completion of your time of service, you will complete a reflection on your service which is found on the Service Log Form (Corpus Students use these hours toward religion grade-please see teachers regarding due dates.)  Use this opportunity to find where your gifts are, and how you can serve others using those gifts and talents. Service Hours Instructions:

-Complete 6 hours per semester (3 for Parish and 3 for Community)

-Deadlines, forms and instructions are found on this form, including reflection prompt. You only need to turn in this form once, by June 1 or when all your hours are complete.

Opportunities for Volunteer Hours

Parish Hours  (3 hours are needed per semester). Below are a number of options for parish and community. These will be updated throughout the year.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Parents, middle schoolers or teens! We could use some weekly administrative help for our Children's Liturgy of the Word ministry (CLOW). It's as simple as making copies, cutting, and gathering the materials needed for each Sunday. You may come in anytime during the week to do it, as long as it's before Sunday.

Domestic Church
