I ask you to join in the journey in passing on the Good News of Jesus and our Catholic faith! This fall over 600 children in grades 1st through 8th, along with their parents, will be in the process of continuing their Catholic education. Registration is now open for 2024-2025 Family Faith Formation at Corpus Christi! Please register by August 1st (see page 4 of the bulletin) and share this information with anyone who might be interested. We are looking forward to a wonderful year of educating children and families in our Catholic faith.
Family Faith Formation includes Religious Education, Domestic Church and Parent Formation Nights. Corpus Christi is here to support parents as they are the primary educators in the faith. Descriptions and details can be found at the bottom of this letter and a full calendar is on our website.
As our catechism states: "Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child's earliest years. This already happens when family members help one another to grow in faith by the witness of Christian life in keeping with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God. The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents." Catechism of the Catholic Church #2226
There are two options that provide Catholic education to children. Parents may choose to enroll their children in Corpus Christi Parish School where we provide religious and faith formation daily. For families who choose public school, other private schools or homeschool, you can enroll in our Family Faith Formation (FFF) programs. With 257 Catholic students enrolled in our parish school and 607 youth in grades 1-8 in our parish, we have 188 students who are currently not receiving any faith formation from Corpus Christi. Please help us reach all students in our parish by registering for Family Faith Formation by August 1st (see QR codes on page 4)
To make all of this possible, we need your help. We are looking for two catechists per grade level, but you do not need to commit to the entire year. We also are forming teams to plan and implement the Domestic Church and Parent Formation Nights. See page 11 of the bulletin for more information.
As you help to nurture the faith of our youth, you will learn and grow in your own faith as well! As one long-time catechist put it, “I learn so much from the children!” We will provide you with training, materials, and support. Classes begin September 11 with a parent meeting on August 21.

All Religious Education meetings will be held in the school.
Religious Education is required for all non-Corpus Christi school families with children in grades 1-6, but all are welcome to attend.
See calendar on our website for First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation retreats.
We need 2 catechists per classroom. Catechists meet 30 min before each meeting. -
Domestic Church meetings will be held in Fr. Mick Mulvany Commons following the 10:00 Mass (11:00-12:00) and are held quarterly.
Families requesting First Reconciliation or First Holy Communion (typically 2nd grade) are required to attend 3 of the 4 Domestic Church meetings, but everyone with children age 4 through grade 6 are welcome! The focus will be on students in grades 1-3.
Parent Formation Nights are held quarterly on Wednesday evenings and are required for families requesting First Reconciliation or First Holy Communion (typically 2nd grade), but all parents are encouraged to attend!
God Bless,
