In the final week of school, many students and staff were asking what others are doing this summer. There were various responses including trips to the lake, going to the pool, practicing sport, reading, resting and more.   Needless to say the summer months bring opportunities for many people and institutions, and Corpus Christi is no different.

In addition to the update on the Space Utilization Project (found later in this bulletin), we are pleased to share several other important facility improvements planned for this summer. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our campus continues to be a welcoming, safe, and functional space for worship, education, fellowship, and ministry.

Roof Repairs – $100,000
Essential repairs to the church roof have already begun, with additional work scheduled for the gym and school buildings later this summer. These repairs will address water damage and deterioration caused by age and weather, helping to preserve our facilities for years to come.

Parking Lot Lighting – $67,000
Over the past year, two parking lot light poles have fallen due to rust and corrosion. Upon inspection, many of the remaining poles were found to be in a similar condition and pose a safety risk. All affected poles will be replaced to ensure a well-lit and secure environment for our parishioners and guests, especially during evening events.

Additional Storage – Donated
Despite our large campus, storage space has been very limited. To better support both school and parish ministries, new storage rooms will be constructed in the boys' and girls' gym bathrooms and underneath the school stairwells. These improvements are being made possible through generous donations, at no cost to the parish.

School Painting – Minimal Cost
The school hallways and classrooms are in need of a fresh coat of paint, as they have not been repainted in many years and are showing signs of wear. Thanks to a grant that provided the paint, we will be organizing volunteer days in July to complete this work. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community in service and support of our school.

Science Classroom Update – $5,000
To enhance student learning and better support science curriculum needs, one classroom will be updated with the installation of additional sinks. This modest investment will provide a more hands-on learning experience for our students and promote greater engagement in science education.

Narthex Carpet – Cost TBD
The original carpet in the Narthex is beginning to show visible signs of wear. Plans are in place to replace it with a more durable and welcoming option that will better reflect the hospitality we strive to extend to all who enter our church.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our parishioners through stewardship and for the wise and prudent financial planning that has allowed us to undertake these necessary updates without placing additional burden on our community. Your continued prayers, support, and involvement are what make our parish a vibrant and thriving home for all.   For all of our members who believe in and practice Stewardship, I echo the prayerful words of Jesus in the Gospel this weekend:   “Father, they are your gift to me.”

God Bless,
